Things are winding down at Max Beauty Supply & Salon, with the sign gone, the store empty, and only a bunch of dollar specials out on the sidewalk. There's a buzz of activity though, and last hopes for a bargain. Max lost its lease, and is moving to Sunset Park. A few blocks south of here, on 19th, a narrow, expanded frame house with "avant guarde modern aesthetics" is on the market for $2.5 million.
