Back on Fort Hamilton, the new Meat Mart has a special deal: a free salami with a twenty-five dollar purchase. It makes me think of Louis the Fish (Yorinks/Egielski), of a kid growing up in a butcher shop on Flatbush, dreaming of the life aquatic.

What retail!  An old school barber, a drug store,a  coffee shop, a comic store (Bullet Proof!), a donut luncheonette. I pick up a glazed and a coffee.  In Borough Park proper, you know you'll see Stores that Time Forgot, and here they are, at every turn.
