Slouching

It's fallen strangely quiet next door, apart from some shifting of dirt in order to build a ramp for back hoe removal.  A few days ago the fire department paid a routine site-inspection visit, only to find no actual construction as yet - merely some unfinished foundation work.  Noting the swamp at the back of the lot, they thought maybe a shallower building might be on the cards.  And a worker at the site today said the same thing.  There is a plan amendment in-process, though I don't know the details. If the footprint of the building is in fact reduced, this will be quite a disappointment to the developers, and another sign of their general level of competence.
