Never afraid to consider the most
insignificant subtle details in the streetscape, I found myself wondering why these tiny stickers had been placed on the windows of empty storefronts on Fifth, between 11th & 12th. This one is in the empty 99c store space next to the store-without-a-sign fro-yo place, Pearl Gate,
and the other is at the former Hair Design by Julie, where the wonderfully sullen display models once held court (we miss you, ladies). This store now has a take-out liquor application posted, and I noticed a couple of guys in there a week or so back. But what of the stickers, and why such a low-key
statement?
