Fine and Mellow

Another year has swung around. Tomorrow is the ninety-eighth anniversary of Billie Holiday's birth, and starting at midnight, WKCR (89.9FM) wlll be airing the annual Billie Holiday Festival, running 24 hours of her music. This clip, that I've posted before, can't be beat.   Billie, Coleman Hawkins, Gerry Mulligan et al. And of course, the smooth, effortless sounding Lester Young.  Sheer bliss.
