On the way to Burgandy's, I passed the Lovell's Guiding Light Cocktail Lounge and Bar. Despite the obvious associations with soaps & blind people, it seemed like a cool sort of sign for a bar, a beacon of hope for the desperate in a harsh & unforgiving world. Sadly, it was closed.

Hillside, Friday
My Friday lunch walk took me to Burgandy's, a soul food cafe at Hillside & Parsons. It was too hot to go for some of the main courses, but the Fish Friday specials smelled great. I got spinach dumplings & sweet potato fries, plus a large glass of lemonade. Will go back for the Tuesday oxtail.

Nice photos and I would love to go to Lovell's! And the perfect Tom Waits song to cap it off!
